Lelainia Lloyd is a mixed media and textile artist living and working on the beautiful West coast of British Columbia, Canada. Born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, she fell in love with the West Coast while on vacation as a child. She moved to BC in 1986, but still considers herself to be a dyed-in-the-wool Prairie girl.

She has always followed her creative impulses, expressing herself through embroidery and primitive stitchery; designing and creating quilts and over the last seven years, mixed media/altered art. She discovered altered art after an injury left her looking for ways to pass the time while recovering.

Lelainia is a mixed media workshop instructor who truly enjoys teaching. "I love seeing people take the basic skills of altered art and parlay that into their own style. It's thrilling to see students get excited about what they are doing and gain confidence in their own uniqueness as an artist. I love being a part of that process."

In addition to teaching, she also does design work for three art related businesses. She is a design team member for Paper Artsy in the UK, an Artist in Residence with Papier Valise in Calgary, Alberta, Canada and a design team member for Hannah Grey in San Jose, California. She loves the challenge of working with a wide variety of materials to showcase each company's line of products.
